What even is the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme?

The Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, or EPF for short, is an investment scheme monitored and regulated by the central government. According to this scheme, both the employee and the employer have to contribute to a common PF account that can be withdrawn anytime the employee exits from employment or transferred if the employer changes, depending on the case. Interest collected through the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme is also credited to the employee's PF account.
