Let me start by saying that it is not my place, nor anyone else’s place to “think” anything about anyone else who smokes weed. If someone smokes weed, for whatever reason, it is their business and theirs alone. Simply put, it's not my place to judge anybody for smoking some pot. I mean, it's not like they are committing some unspeakable act. They’re smoking weed, not committing genocide.
Now, of course people have this view that stoners, people who smoke pot everyday, are in some way lazier, dumber, or generally worth less than people who do not smoke. This is of course total bologna. Just because someone smokes weed does not define their character.
Smoking weed has nothing to do with someone’s morality or their ability to do and be a good human being. There are plenty of great pot heads out there, really altruistic and good people that help those around them. Smoking pot is not going to influence that. Someone who is good is good because they are good, and someone who is bad is bad because they are bad. A “good” person is not going to turn into a “bad” person because they smoke weed daily.
If someone smokes weed to get high, forget about their problems, and just have fun, then power to them. That is their business. Now, it might not be the healthiest way to deal with life, and always being intoxicated certainly has its drawbacks, but the vast majority of stoner don't lift a finger to hurt other people, so it's not my place to judge, even if they just smoke for recreational use.
Let’s also consider that many people smoke weed for actual medical reasons. There is a reason why it is called medical marijuana, why more and more people are turning to it, and it is being used. This is because it is a real medicine, one that actually helps people. More than that, it's a medicine that has tons of benefits and has the ability and real potential to treat dozens of physical and mental conditions in one way or another.
THC and CBD, both active components in weed, can help treat anxiety, depression, nausea, acne, pain, insomnia, and so much more, plus it has the potential to help manage, treat, or even stop symptoms from various diseases, especially neurological disorders like epilepsy or Alzheimer’s. If someone is using weed for medical reasons, there is no reason to judge them, and actually, they are probably doing a good thing, using something as simple and relatively harmless as pot, especially when compared to some of the deadly and super addictive drugs that big pharma shoves down society’s throat.
I personally smoke a lot of weed, and it is because A. I have trouble sleeping, serious trouble, B. because it helps relieve my anxiety, and C. because it is a great conversation starter with friends and a good way to spend a few hours talking with the buddies….. Everyone has their own reasons for smoking weed.
I honestly do not think anything of anybody that smokes weed everyday. For one, other’s opinions should not and do not influence the way I lead my life, and second, it's really nobody else’s business either way.
