What are your thoughts on the direction of Web 2.0 technologies with regards to SEO?

I think they need to find away to remove spam sites from search results. They've been trying to do this forever, and still haven't found a way to permanently stop these sites from ranking.

They also need to stop penalizing quality sites. A lot of good sites were affected by the google penguin/panda updates.
