Web Development As a Career

This question i am feeling so awkward because i am a web developer my self and lot of my younger fellow asks me that should they adopt this profession and whats the future of web development if they adopt it as a career. I see web development in positive and negative ways and does not find it a good profession since some times one have to spend hours and even night sitting in front of the computer. The main advantage however is that you can do the work from the luxury of your table and chair and do not have to drive on crazy roads and deal with many people.

What do you guys thing of web developers career and what is good and bad about this career. I am assuming that there would be many people who would be internet and webmaster gurus here and i want to hear from you guys about what you thing of this profession.
 
Right now as we speak web development is a good career although no body can predict future but it will remain to be a good career at least for few more years to come. Like other programming careers you would definitely have to keep up with the new and upcoming technologies.
 
I Am New , But Heard many Peoples Are Enjoying better Life as Developers and they also Suggest me for getting Start Career with in same Field "Refers me w3schools as Web resource" . I Am Also Learning Concepts to choose the Same industry as my profession .

To me web developer career seemed to be really attractive so I went for it, learning took about a year, then I've been searching for a job and it took about two month after it I worked for three years in one company a bit less that two for another. Quit because I really felt like the job is taking all of my time because when you are a dev, you always need to be on the edge of technology so you spend a lot of time learning. So now I am browsing through valleyofthesunjobs.com searching for some job opportunities out of software dev because I understand that I just can't handle it.
