Web Design vs Graphic design

I would consider Web Design/Graphic Design more closely related these days, they are more on the visual side of things, as opposed to Web Developers and Programmers who handle the underlying code, the scripting, calls to the databases, etc... A web designer may conceptualize a layout in something like Photoshop, but a programmer or web developer would be the one to take the graphical assets and convert them into a functional layout.
 
Graphic Design and Website Designs are almost same process. Graphic design involves to create graphics, typography and images but yes graphic designer do not do any programming and they are only responsible to create any graphics and images which can be later used for published in print work or website work. Web design involves to creating graphic designs, images and typography but they do programming also.

Graphic Designer and Website Designer has always been under misconception by non-design people who are looking for design services and one window solution. Due to heavy competition in this industry most Graphic Designers pretend that they know Website Design as well just for the sake of business which end up as a non user friendly experience of website. In some cases flaws in website user experience can be a result of client’s feedback those who are less-aware of Design Aesthetics.:love_heart::shame:
 
Yeah it's pretty much the same and/or crossover. Personally do graphic design, there's a lot more options and work out there, with web design you're competing against wordpress themes which are extremely good and cheap. Unless you make top quality themes you're going to struggle or just have to find local work.
 
While web and graphic design are closely related, they are not the same thing. Web design means you can and will design a full website. Whereas graphic design means you can only or will only design graphics. No coding is included in graphic design. Most web designers start off in graphic design before they become well versed in the coding world.

Graphic Design and Web Design work hand in hand. A website won't sell if it looks bad, equally a beautiful looking website won't sell if it doesn't function like a normal website would. I have worked for some people who think Web Design is only about codes, and I can't tell you how frustrating it is. They would just hire I.T. guys who are masters in coding but have no idea what a good design is, I mean, they put red background color on blue text! And nowadays, there a websites that offer website building services that requires little to no coding skills, some of them are just drag and drop. But the point is, Graphic Design and Web Design work hand in hand, one can't function properly without the other.

When designing for the web you must understand the habits of your audience and how they move through a website. These tendencies should then drive your decisions on the design. In print, items on the page do not interact with each other. On the web, you must expect your audience to jump from page to page, scanning content for specific words, phrases, or icons that inform their decisions on where to go next.
 
As designers, it is our job to communicate effectively in both the print and web mediums, and learn that they are separate and not equal. Understanding the distinct differences between being a graphic designer.
