Ultra book vs Notebook- The difference

I had been searching for laptops all day long and i found out these strange words like notebooks and ultra books instead of Laptops. I just wanted to know about each of them and the major differences between the two.

I believe the ultrabooks are thinner and has less features e.g. it doesn't have a DVD drive. Some however prefer that because they are lighter and look more cool. I think they started years ago when the mac air came out and then others copied their DVD-less design. Also they tend to use SSD over regular HDDs.
