torrent or bit torrent?

what is the difference between torrent and bit torrent? are they same or not,
if not then which one is best? I have both and according to me both are same because I don't found any difference in them. what are your views?

Well I really never used Bittorrent and i using torrent from 6 years.I really don't know exact difference between them.What i think is user friendlyness is good in torrent.
