Starting a profitable online business

Have you started your own online business? How long until it was profitable?

I'm trying to start my own online business, and we still haven't made any money off our website. However, I'm just focusing on making the site a better resource for our users, and building the traffic. I know the money will come in eventually if I remain dedicated to my project.
 
I have a product that will be soon launched. Everything is ready, and we have even began the promotional activities. We have gathered a few email addresses who we think will definitely become our customers. By the looks of it, I think our product will become a success, as it addresses almost all the needs of the customer's online business.

My earlier business as a web designer is lso doing well, but I am now focusing more on this upcoming product launch.

I'm planning on launching a new feature on my website soon, and I think that'll help make it become a success.
 
I am in the same boat as you Bauss. I have a couple things I am working on one of which will be launched late next week. I also have book that I am shopping to publishers at the moment. We have the ebook version out but we would like to get it published to be sold in stores as well. I would say to keep focusing on adding more as your forum looks like it is doing well.
 
I haven't really started anything from scratch, but I do have some projects here and there. I think one good thing to remember is that you can also look at your site's success beyond just the way it is able to be monetized for you right now, but instead you can also look at it as increasing the site's worth at the same time. And maybe one day your site might be worth thousands of dollars when you appraise it for re-sale.
 
I already tried but failed, tried to create a site sells publicity to other sites but I ended up closing the site, My biggest problems were to invest the money as well as time for the site.

I came across this site and thought it might be of use to you too Register your .biz or .com business domain | 1&1 I had the problem of not wanting to spend too much time on maintaining my website, but luckily I found this 1and1 site. Also, it's quite affordable and easy to use.
 
No, I have not tried for Online Business till but have optimized and promote some E-commerce sites of my clients.
These sites are doing well and making profits.
 
Search Engine Optimization is i think the best online business you Earn a lot with this.But its not Easy earn quickly or its not a
short way to earn online you put lot of efforts to get to your target.

I have started my own little business of selling my own e-books. It took a lot of time to build the audience for my blog - more than 4 years.
