Revenue from Writing Content

The playing field has changed over the years for affiliate content marketers - payouts are smaller and the EPC model is down to AdSense and eBay's ePN which is eventually headed for the CPA model.

I have 15 sites and hundreds of pages/posts of original content. My political blog has >5K posts. So I do write quite a bit but talking with my wife over dinner she was suggesting selling my writing skills.

So the BIG question - ODesk, Elance or fill in the blank ____________________________with your suggestion and tell me why.

I'm looking for good payout, and a good, steady supply of work. And....is the client supposed to not only tell you what they want but give you some source material to work from? Add anything else you feel is important.

Thanks for your help.

Well, personally I don't believe in writing for others in the sense you're pointing out. Perhaps, I feel my writing isn't all that good or probably because I'm not really into writing. I feel most people don't pay that much especially when it has to do with all these freelance websites, at least not until you build a reputation of some sort(so I heard). Personally, I as a person can't chunk writings out for others 'cause I feel kind of attached to my writings. And automatically mass writing means slight or more drop in quality.

You know what, if I were you and could write like you portrayed in your reply, I would find a way to commercialize my websites and of course my contents effectively. You just have to think of a strategy to work on, and you could end up making more money that you'd ever earn from writing for others. - This is my opinion.

However, to your last question, I think they're going to supply you with what they feel is necessary to do the job and you play by their rules.

Try Cloud Crowd. If you can write like you say you can, then you'll get paid at the end of day and you can quickly see if this is something you want to pursue.

Well, things are getting really competitive nowadays. Getting a freelance writing job is not as easy as it used to be once upon a time.

Niche Guy, I would sign up with constant content as you are allowed to post your articles there and put a price on them for people to buy. You would need to check out the site to familiarize yourself with their terms. I am not a member there, however I am thinking of joining. It depends on what type of content you are trying to sell, is it evergreen, will it be read by people for years to come or does it have a time frame on it like say a TV review would have. Or articles that may have covered the last US election. There are many other sites like this around, you just have to spend a few hours searching the internet.

What you might also want to consider is monetizing your blog if you have not already, using Adsense or Amazon or affiliate links, what ever you want really. Have a look through this blog for some more ideas, Anna has put together some great stuff here: About

You will be reading this blog for a few hours once you get started, but some of the ideas and links to sites where you can sell your articles might be of some help to you. Good luck; Jel

Go for SEOClerks.com without thinking to any other option, they are the top marketplace to buy/sell/trade themes, ebooks, softwares, article, website related services and thousands more. If you have a good command of the English language then I would suggest starting up as a freelance writer, you can search Google for "writing job boards" and find loads of people looking for quality writers. You can also check out a forum like Digital Point, this is where I get a lot of work from.
