Getting huge number of backlinks from single site will punish your rankings I heard some where. But when observed for some sites which got huge no of links from repeated sites appearing in 1st page means they didn't punished So what you believe to getting backlink from repeated site?

If you got big amount of back links from one source then it harm for your website and may be your website will be penalized.

If you are obviously just building tons of links from the same site, then maybe. This why it is advised to build backlinks from different sources.

But it shouldn't always be the case. For example, I always post in my facebook or twitter that would lead visitors to my website. I post on a regular basis, and so are most of the rest of us. In cases like this, I don't think Google would punish you.
