Prepaid SIM for US Trip

Is there a way to buy a prepaid SIM for a US trip? Ideally to have a working phone from the moment I land.

I have seen some on Ebay USA but not sure how well they work. Or can I just buy them at the airport or something?

Shop reviews on Google+ or yelp are useful in finding out the user's experience with the product. I always use reviews in finding any shops. I just came back from a trip to the Hawaii and before I left I bought prepaid sim card from TCAWireless. It has some good reviews on yelp.
