To start with ensuring good contents, proper site structure (including internal links), constant update of contents (and technologies) and finally a well organized link building or earning strategy.

Contents including every text, image, video and more on a website (including meta data) should be presented in a simple way and with basic SEO and Ux & Ui inputs. For instance text contents (including meta data) might include a few important keywords (never over do) and images could carry alt tag to make them relevant and finally videos should carry a proper description...!
