As internet marketers, keyword research is crucial to us so we must know how to do it effectively. I spend more time doing keyword research than I do building backlinks. This will sound shocking to some of you but you haven't considered the fact that finding BUYER keywords with little/No competition means you won't need to build as many backlinks in order to get on page one and stay there.

Join at least 3 affiliate networks in order to have a good choice of potential keywords. Use Google's keyword tool along with Traffic Travis(free version) to do your competition analysis.

Keyword research is a very important thing and is the first step in making a right website and finding out its income and visitors potential. I use a tool called keyword spy and they will give many keywords analysis and other things like CPC, keyword popularity and many other important analysis on keywords. I have not heard of Travis but since you have mentioned it i will definitely give it a try
