Is it worth buying a villa in Dubai?

Got offered a management role at an IT company in Dubai and they want me to relocate permanently. Been seriously thinking it over because the money they're promising is way more than what I'm making now. Only thing is I need to figure out the living situation. I'd love to have a villa but I'm not totally sure it's worth it. Is it actually a good deal living in one over there or would an apartment closer to work make more sense?

Villas aren't cheap, especially once you add everything in like a pool and your own beach access. Personally I'd just rent an apartment close to work for a while first and then see where the money's at before committing to a villa with all the amenities.

Nothing's stopping you from picking up a more modest villa right now and living away from all the noise of central Dubai. Then once you've saved up enough you can always sell and upgrade to something nicer, a lot of people do exactly that over there.
