Is it true that LED light is less effective for cannabis growing than other types of light?
No but it depends a LOT on the LED light. I started with a King Plus 1000 which is OK for vegetation stage but too weak for flower stage. A big advantage of LED lights for the indoor micro grower is their minimal heat production. In a grow tent or small grow area that heat will otherwise build up and adult cannabis plants do not like heat too much over about 85˚F and they are pretty sensitive to it. The new generation of LEDs are Quantium Board LEDs. Prices are quite reasonable and they are good for flower. Two manufacturers are Spyder Farmer and Mars Hydro and they are both sold on Amazon. I’m into my first grow with a Spyder Farmer 2000 in week 8 of flower so I’m coming down the home stretch and quite happy.
