Is Domain Authority still Useful for SEO?

Hi Folks,

I have heard and read somewhere that in 2016, domain authority is meaning nothing. Google many times changed their algorithm, but Moz remained in a Stone Age.

As the result, in 2016 the MOZ metrics are completely meaningless for SEO purpose. Thousands domains with high DA are Google penalized or banned.

How rightful is that importance?

Domain authority is the measure of domain strength and popularity in search engines. It is measured by Moz and it provides a numerical value determining the trust of your domain in search engines.

Use Domain Authority for comparing two websites or tracking the “strength or rank” of your website anytime. Domain Authority is a score (on a 100-point scale) designed by Moz that predicts how well a website will get rank on search engines. We calculate this metric by combining all of our other link metrics— number of total links, linking root domains, MozTrust, MozRank, etc.—into a single score.
