I have an account with hosting provider ipage.
I have complained to them regarding my concerns over safety of their email servers as they do not use encripted connection.
So the password can be intercepted by a dishonest person and used to gain access to my emals.
They have dogded direct question over why does Thunderbird email client which I was trying to configure reports their connection as being unencrypted and therefore unsafe.
I have noticed some strange behaviour befoure that, and wanted to use Thunderbird instead of web mail. ( I realise that it would not make any diference regarding safety, but it was something to try, and it gave that warrning over connection being unencrypted and unsafe.)
It is amazing how many times this support team was going to dodge the issue.
I have been updating support ticked 6 times, each time they wanted to close it as being resolved and they answers did not answer any of my questions, but were mearly trying to dodge the issue.
The issue was unsafe / unencrypted connection to their email server.
I have explained that the two instances of strange behaviour on web mail at my account were:
1. email appeared to be coming to the in-box, but never came.
2. an email that appeared in the in-box, but without a title and a name of the sender, also disappeared, when I clicked on it.
As a final insult they asked me to send the the full header orf those emails.
How am I supposed to send a full header of emails that (a. first never arrived, b. second disappeared when I clicked on it)
Those instances were pointing me to someone with dishonest intentions having access to my email account.
By the way that support team has been dealing with this, almost makes me think it is some sort of an internal joke among them lot.
