How to repair notebook Adapter?

My notebooks adapter isn't working or supplying power to my notebook. My work is therefore delayed. I was thinking to order a new one but it would take seven days. Has anyone ever repaired their notebooks adapter. If yes then please tell me how to do that.
 
Apart from changing the fuse of the plug there isn't much else to do. The cable can be detached from the charger unit so swapping that with another one might help so you know which one is broken. But this depends on whether you have access to another charger of the same type.
 
I would just purchase a new computer adapter since it is not easy to get it repaired unless you know how. Most people don't bother to repair the adapter because it is cheaper to buy a new one, unless you can't find one anymore.
