How to reduce Bounce rate?

Hi All

I am observing that my site is getting high bounce rate from the traffic coming from social media sites and also from Google. Does it have any bad impact on search engine rankings? Also how to reduce bounce rate on my website?

Bounce rate isn't a search engine ranking factor But As the readers are frequently leaving your site then It may show Google that your site content isn't engaging and helpful to them.

If you really want to reduce bounce rate of your website then you should first focus on the quality of your content. If your content will be helpful and informative then readers may love to read them and get engaged with your content.

Also offer them related content linked in your articles.

Linking related content in your articles will help you to reduce bounce rate of your website. So Just keep in mind that you only have to write informative and quality content.

If visitors visit your site but do not spend time, then there is no benefit of traffic at all.
This is a serious problem which clearly indicates that your website has nothing to present visitors.Do take care of following points:

You must have appealing design with proper formatting.
Content of your site must be relevant and quality driven.It has the potential to engage the reader.
Contextual links must be well adjusted in the content and strong enough to send visitors to another page.
No issues regarding Page loading.
No mess of ads and other audio/video items.It must be balanced.

Having good content and do follow backlinks is the primary way to reduce bounce rate. A close second is clear easy navigation. You have a lot of content on your site, but it's a bit cluttered. I might work on reducing clutter.

Quite relived hearing that Bounce rate isn't a ranking factor as it was on 80s, but will work on improvising my content quality and also will link to other related articles and then, will see how it goes.

Quite a list to work on, but will take a look at all of them. BTW, i have a confusion, What if a user comes and gets solved his query and then hits the back button, will it be considered as Bounced visitor?

Bounce rate of a web page= total number of bounces on a page (in a given time period) / total number of entrances on the page (in the same time period). Bounces is the number of single page visits resulting from the page and Entrances is the number of times visitors entered you site on the page. Create landing pages which satisfy visitor’s query so that visiter can find the website more informative and more profitable.

The low bounce rate is very important for SEO, if you have 80% bounce rate that means your content is boring, and user leave your website after visiting one page only. Here are three tips for you to reduce bounce rate.

1-Do internal linking.
2-Link your popular Posts in side bar.
3-If you have a post in multiple headings make each page for one heading and add next button under each page (This trick work best with Memes Website).

In fact, it is not a bounce rate. But Google will count it as a bounce rate. It counts a page view when someone visit another page on your website. Like I suggested you above, you need to send time event. Each time someone spent 30 seconds on your website, send a message to Google to tell him that the user is still there. Your bounce rate will dramatically decrease.

I have a popular articles that is a list of best resources. Each time someone visit, they just visit an external website. To fix bounce rate on that page, I just track time with JavaScript.
