How to rank higher in google.com from UK?

Hi there, I run a website for a charity based in the UK with a .org.uk domain name. The charity is primarily involved in conservation work in Asia. We have some good rankings in google.co.uk but are well down the list on google.com.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to get higher on google.com in this situation?

Well he has an issue with ranking.. not with languages.. So your answer is also wrong

Its not about spoken languages its about the regional version of Google you are tryign to rank with. if you have the incorrect HREF lang tag then you will not be ranked in the correct regional version of Google. My answer is correct as a starting point
