How to put up security on your facebook account?

Facebook is changing day by day. Posts, Pictures are getting public. I don't want many of my friends to view my pictures or my posts? How to handle it?
Can't understand it. This security on Facebook is getting difficult to understand. How to put it on?

According to the people, the number of FB users increased security means will not be as good as before?
 
i use these 2 way
1. Turn on fuction that will alert you when you fb account is logged in by another phone
2. Use Security function, when you log in from another device, FB will send you a security code to your phone and you can only get in when you get the right code
