how to merge a video?

I want to join some video clips into one and I dont know any specific software to do so,
Suggest me some best softwares to merge couple of video clips into one.

What format are those video clips? The easiest and completely free of doing it would be to install windows movie maker. It is good with WMV files and you can do all the things you asked for. Otherwise try Any Video Converter which is another popular video editing / converter application.
