very good question. always used limited resources to generate backlink which is always usefull for the generate quality backlink for your website. domain authority is on of the most important thing in SEO if the site is irrelevant then how the quality backlinks will be genrate.

Good question. I am going to try to give some advise. First Go Ahrefs.com than look for Referring domain you have and download this in excel sheet than sort out every link by good to bad priority than remove it one by one. Hope it helps.
