Although I am not opposer of using tools to monitor, track and analyze SEO performance, I don't believe using link building tools are worth the effort. To me I use Google Analytics, Web Masters tool and Ahrefs (to get more statistics and analysis). To me Google trendz is more for a content writer and Social media Marketer than for an SEO, yet I use it to find great topics to write about.

Apart from these I also use "Google Search" itself as a tool to find relevant contents, competitors and more.
