Hashtags (#) Like the concept of tags, a user can draw attention to certain aspects of a twitter post. By placing a #symbol before a word to highlight it as a tag. Other users will do so, and Twitter can track how many people are talking about something. This has been used to track natural disasters as many people tweet about them.

Facebook actually recently added Hashtags. This will be very effective in the future for marketers. People can use hashtags like #makemoney and a lot of people will most likely search for that if they want to make money online.

Hashtags, in Twitter, Instagram and now Facebook are more than convenience. They've also become a huge part of SEO and online marketing strategies. This way, when someone searches for a specific hashtag/interest, they can be directed to their brand.

Hashtags work as the keyword in SEO because hashtags can help your tweets reach a broad number of people. It can help you enhance your Twitter effort but don’t overuse them because you will look like a spammer and it might be the reason to lose followers.

I always use hashtag to improve the effect of each marketing campaign! Here are some sharings:
- Let’s use Websta and search the hashtag #MensFashion, you will receive the result for hashtag #MensFashion and an additional keyword hashtags list with the number of times they have been used. Keep in mind, Instagram allows you use to the maximum of 30 hashtags per post. The popular words will change over time, revisit your hashtag keywords every month to make sure it is up-to-date and you’re using the best possible terms.
- Use variants of hashtag
For example:
Brand Keyword Hashtags (with brand MensFashion)
#mensaccessories #mensgoods #mensfashion #fashion #mensstyle #menswear
Product Category Keyword Hashtags
#happysocks #corgisocks #socks #sockswag #sockgame #sockswagg #happysockday #sockwars #funsocks #happysockday
Location Specific Keyword Hashtags
#Simicart #SimicartMagento #SimicartMagentoBloggers
