Gumtree / craigs list

As there are no selling fees it is potentially cheaper to sell via these channels. But perhaps consumers feel it is less safe as sellers are not rated and they are not protected by paypal. Has anyone got a business that is dependent on either gumtree or craigs list?

No but I've used Gumtree a few times, as long as you're smart you should be fine. I use eBay, Amazon and my own store. I would like some more online marketplaces though, eBay and especially Amazon are very expensive!

It is definitely less safe dealing with people on that site. I have not bought anything on Craig's List, but I have bought a few things on GumTree and some of them have tried to rip me off when I've gone to their house to hand over the money.
