Penguin 3.0 is the latest Google update that rolled out in the past week. It was an update regarding the backlink strategy of websites and many have recovered their rankings after this update.
 
Google Penguin update aims to penalize the websites, which violate Google guidelines to rank in the SERPs. Penguin update hit the websites, which have a low quality content on the website.

Recently, there was a Penguin update, which affected around 40% of the SERPS.
 
Google Penguin update is about to bring down websites that violate Google’s Webmaster Guidelines and use black-hat SEO techniques. Recently Google had updated Penguin 3.0 algorithm, where as so many websites got recovered from penalty, who had cleaned up all bad backlinks. And some websites, who follows unethical way of SEO, got hit by Google.
 
Google Penguin is a code name for a Google algorithm update that was first announced on April 24, 2012. The update is aimed at decreasing search engine rankings of websites that violate Google’s Webmaster Guidelines by using now declared black-hat SEO techniques involved in increasing artificially the ranking of a webpage by manipulating the number of links pointing to the page. Such tactics are commonly described as link schemes. According to Google's John Mueller, Google has announced all updates to the Penguin filter to the public.
