Sorry, probably a bit of a simple question. I haven't really gone that deep into GA before or its impact.
I have some URLs that are in the menu, that are in the following structure:
domain.com/category/sub-category?icn=Sub_Category&ici=Sub_Category_Placeme nt
So the questions I have related to this are:
We have the canonical set as /category/sub-category would it be an improvement to link directly to the canonical url?
Is there a way of doing this tracking through code/google tag manager so the url is just /category/sub-category
Are we losing potential rankings because of they way we are currently doing this? (As this is the menu, there are links on a variety of pages on this site, some from reasonably authoritative sources)
Appreciate any answers, never really delved into url parameters before.
