Easiest and cheapest way to unlock my phone?

I bought my phone from my country and immediately after i traveled abroad the phone refused to accept any kind of activity from the sim i inserted. When i got it checked from the market i was informed that the phone is locked and without getting it unlocked i wont be able to use it. I wanted to know the most hassle-free and cheap way to get it unlocked. Please help me

It actually depends on what you're willing to do. Free can be difficult but that depends on your phone. If it's one of the more popular ones, it should be easy, otherwise, better check for someone who has the technical know-how and experience to unlock your phone.
