Both terms are related to backlinks.Whenever you post some content to any other site you receive a link against that post and that link is known as backlink.
A backlink from higher rank site always passed some of its power to your domain also which was termed as link juice.
In recent times , some sites have taken a step not to pass link juice with all baclinks and for that they have provided an option.If a site does not want to share its link juice with other sites it can use a tag "rel=nofollow" which means that no link juice would be passed on to other site with their backlink.
Dofollow link has an upper hand in SEO.

Google doesn't read no-follow backlinks, but they help to drive quality traffic on your site.

Both nofollow and dofollow links are better for ranking of your site. Nofollow links contain rel=nofollow while in dofollow links rel="" not mentioned.
