Difference between Indexing and Crawling..??

Hey all i am a newbie in SEO and i just wanted to solve a doubt that always creeps up in my mind!! What is the difference between Indexing and Crawling..??

First thing dont submit all the pages to google indexer. Submiting site home page is more than enough. Google crawlers are strong enough to find out all files on your website and index it automatically. So stop it if you are doing it now.
