Crossfiring

Has anyone tried joining two or more graphics card together? This can increase the performance by huge amounts if you have 2 high performance graphics cards. Which ones did you use and does it work?

I've never done it, but always wanted to. Apparently there's an article explaining how Crossfire with AMD cards is technically broken and literally doesn't work. I think it's fixed with the new cards though.

That's a pretty Good GPU you are getting!

Crossfire is ATI Radeon's way of combining 2 Graphics cards to improve performance quality. By putting 2 GPUs in crossfire mode, the performance increases 1.4-1.6 times the original graphics card.

The reason the HD 4850x2 crossfire (are you sure it's this? this is 4 GPUs!) and 4890 are same price is because HD 4890 is one Graphics card and that means you can add more GPUs later on for higher performance.

BTW, just because the FPS rate is similar in one benchmark, that doesn't mean that the GPUs are same in performance.
