Hi everyone,
I’m Chris Kirkland, Managing Partner at Legacy Capital Advisors here in Atlanta, Georgia, and I wanted to jump in and share a bit about something I’m deeply passionate about: legacy planning and retirement strategy. If you’ve ever wondered what a financial advisor really does—or more importantly, why we do it—let me give you a quick look behind the curtain.
Most folks think financial advisors are just here to talk investments, portfolios, and percentages. And sure, those things matter. But the heart of what I do? It’s helping people protect what they’ve built, grow it wisely, and pass it on intentionally.
That’s what legacy planning is really all about.
Whether you’re in your 30s or your 60s, thinking ahead is a sign of financial maturity. And I work with clients across all stages—young professionals, small business owners, retirees—to make sure their financial roadmap matches their life goals.
With everything going on in the world—economic shifts, market volatility, changing tax laws—people are realizing that having a plan in place isn’t optional anymore. It’s essential.
What I often see in Atlanta (and I’m sure it’s true everywhere) is that people work hard to build wealth, but they don’t always have the right tools or advice to protect it. That’s where I step in—with clear, customized strategies that simplify the process.
Here’s what that might include:
At Legacy Capital Advisors, we don’t believe in cookie-cutter solutions. When I sit down with a client, the first thing I ask is, “What matters most to you?”
From there, I help build a financial strategy that reflects their values, their goals, and their timeline. I’ve found that when people understand why they’re doing something financially, they’re much more confident moving forward—and much less stressed.
Just to give some quick background:
I’m a big believer in giving back, both financially and personally. That mindset shows up in how I guide my clients—this isn’t just about wealth. It’s about purpose.
Don’t worry if you haven’t figured everything out yet. The hardest part is usually just making that first call or having that first conversation. I’ve had clients tell me, “Chris, I wish I did this years ago.” And honestly, it’s never too late to get on the right path.
Whether you're new to financial planning or want a second opinion, I’m always happy to talk—no pressure, no sales pitch. Just a real conversation about your future and what you want it to look like.
If you’re in the Atlanta area or just looking for an advisor who actually listens and gives honest, straightforward advice, I’d love to connect.
Feel free to DM me here, or visit Legacy Capital Advisors Atlanta to schedule a time to chat.
Here’s to building something lasting—something worth calling a legacy.
Best,
Chris Kirkland

It’s More Than Numbers—It’s About People
Most folks think financial advisors are just here to talk investments, portfolios, and percentages.
Why Legacy Planning Is So Important Right Now
With everything going on in the world—economic shifts, market volatility, changing tax laws—people are realizing that having a plan in place isn’t optional anymore. It’s essential.
What I often see in Atlanta (and I’m sure it’s true everywhere) is that people work hard to build wealth, but they don’t always have the right tools or advice to protect it. That’s where I step in—with clear, customized strategies that simplify the process.
Here’s what that might include:
- Planning for retirement income you can’t outlive
- Setting up tax-advantaged accounts to preserve wealth
- Structuring a legacy for children, charities, or causes you care about
- Making sure you’re insured properly, not just invested
- Creating multi-generational plans to support your family’s future
My Process: Simple and Personal
At Legacy Capital Advisors, we don’t believe in cookie-cutter solutions. When I sit down with a client, the first thing I ask is, “What matters most to you?”
From there, I help build a financial strategy that reflects their values, their goals, and their timeline. I’ve found that when people understand why they’re doing something financially, they’re much more confident moving forward—and much less stressed.
A Bit About Me
Just to give some quick background:
- I hold multiple FINRA registrations and insurance licenses
- I previously worked for a Fortune 250 financial firm, but now focus fully on independent advising
- I’m a graduate of both The University of Georgia and The Citadel
- I live in Vinings, GA, and serve on the Board of the Lupus Foundation (Georgia Chapter)
I’m a big believer in giving back, both financially and personally. That mindset shows up in how I guide my clients—this isn’t just about wealth. It’s about purpose.
