I will not recommend it because Google also drops its value. Yes, there still some directory website which has very high domain authority so just work on there and leave else. Because it will take more time to approve and as I say above google has drop directory values.
Directory submission is no more helpful as Google considers these websites are thin sites with very less content. Hence these websites are rarely crawled and indexed today.
