Check out OpenSourceCMS.com. It is a large directory of all sorts of open source scripts, and in addition it includes installations of them all that you can try out as both the end user and an administrator. This can save you a lot of time and trouble of installing all of these yourself only to discover they aren't the right fit for you. Personally, I would just stick with Wordpress. It is free and powers a majority of the web these days.

I always look for scripts to the above and i would like to rate it 100%, its one of the best site i have ever tried to find good scripts.
