Another CHANCE

Should people be given another Chance after doing a mistake ?
That chance means to do a mistake again ?
There was a big misunderstanding between me and my friend. And now i don't feel like talking to him.
Once i had a self respect for him but now it all doomed. Even, i don't want to see his face again. I do not want to give him a chance even. What to do ?
What if he does the same again ?
