Adaptation of a parrot in a new home: How to help a parrot get used to a new environment?

I just brought home a new parrot, and I’m trying to ensure the transition goes smoothly. He seems a little nervous and hasn’t explored his cage much yet. I’m giving him space, but I’d love to know if there’s anything else I can do to help him settle in. How long did it take for your parrots to feel comfortable in a new environment? Do you have any tips for making the adjustment easier?

It can take some time for a parrot to adjust to a new home. When I got my cockatoo, I made sure to keep things calm and consistent. At first, I also put his cage in a quieter spot so he didn’t feel overwhelmed. You can find some great advice on this site that helped me a lot when I brought him home: goffin cockatoo for sale. Give your bird time, and stick to a routine—it helps!

I don’t own a parrot myself, but I’ve heard that patience is key when they’re settling into a new environment. My friend’s bird was initially super shy, but after a few weeks, he became much more confident. They need time to feel safe and get used to their surroundings. It’s cool how each bird has its personality and adapts differently!
