I have been using Prestashop, Wordpress and Joomla for many years and know that no matter how good your website looks, and how hard you worked, Google can still overlook it.

So, I have put together this quick web optimization resource that has helped me over the years to optimise my product pages and push them toward the 1st page of Google.

The inforgraphic below shows the 10 simple steps and if you want to understand things a little deeper the article can be found at Mallee Blue Media.

I hope this helps a few battlers like myself out there!

Thanks for the info, that image has some useful tips on it. Does the adding of external links of high PR sites help boost your own ranking? If so then i would assume that everyone will fill their pages with google and microsoft links. There aren't many websites with a sitemap included so this is good advice.

Kai,

External links do not give you any PR juice directly, if that's what your refering to. However, Google recognises good (and relevant) neighbourhoods. You want to be seen as moving in the right crowd by Google.

Using external links (nofollow) carefully can help your authority in the eyes of the visitor and improve your position in Google search results. Try this operator in Google as an example of how related sites (sites that get seen together via links and other associations) might affect your appearance in Google: type: related:Quick Sprout in to Google search.

Hope this helps.

Hello David, as you say External ( nofollow) links are helpful improve your position in Google search results, but how, nofollow links are not index by google, so how we get good ranking in search engine.

Hi Easy Articles,

No follow links are indexed by Google, they just don't pass on page rank (or page authority) to the site they are pointing to. The value of pointing to other high PR ranked sites (in moderation) is that your page is being associated with a high value resource adn Google does factor this in to its search results. It might also lead to them linking back to you or mentioning you at some point.

To check if that it is possible to improve search engine results you can use this example. If you type in "10 seo tips for blogs" (without quotes)and look at the top 5 results, you will see that they are all linking to high authority sites. Some of those top results are even linking to high PR sites using do follow links!

If you go to the 5th page of the search results you will see a very well known blogger - shoutmeloud.com with some really good information - just as good as the other sites on page 1.... but there is not a citatino or link to another website on the page.

Makes you wonder.

Just a couple of links here and there, when it is truly useful, is all that's needed.

Hope my explaination helps.

Kind Regards,
