Large Format Tile Installation Pros Cons

Hey everyone! I’m looking at these massive 24x48 porcelain tiles for my living room, but my brother says they are a nightmare to install. Does anyone here have experience with them? Are the fewer grout lines really worth the extra cost and hassle for a DIY project?

Hello there! I actually just went through this exact process and I can tell you that those large tiles look absolutely incredible once they are down. The main pro is definitely that seamless, high-end look because you barely see any grout. However, the downside is that your floor has to be perfectly flat or you will get a ton of lippage. I realized halfway through that it was way too difficult for a DIY job. I ended up calling Dream House Tile https://dreamhousetile.ca/ to take over and I am so glad I did. They have the specialized suction cups and leveling systems needed for these big slabs. They provide the most professional tile installation services in Toronto and GTA, and they made my floor look like a solid piece of stone. I would honestly hire a pro for this one!
