A form of keyword matching in which ads are never matched with searches that include the specified negative keyword but sometimes get better results for PPC campaigns. Some Negative keywords are free, cheap, discount etc.

Negative keywords in ppc prevent the ad from displaying when such search terms or keywords are searched. For example if you have a site of seo services and you want when a people search seo jobs then your ad doesn't display there. For this you put job keywords in negative keywords.

Negative keywords becomes vanished from Search Engines due to the latest penguin update. Most of the black hat methods like exact match keywords has become history due to the impact of latest penguin. After the update, SEO Services & providers are concentrating more on Quality content mixed with less keywords.

Still not in favor of use this. Because instead of using this type of keyword we have to focus on actual keywords which we want to use for PPC. @deven75 Just explain me why we are confusing search engine using this type of negative keywords.

PPC will work much better with just a bit of common sense. For instance an offer, Cheap or discount can work if it's for a Ecommerce site and the offer is a bit true. However in most other case the right idea would be to focus on sales keywords rather than traffic keywords. For instance "Web Designing prices" "Web Designing agency New York" are more likely to get into business rather than "Web designing Service".

A negative keyword is a word or phrase that allows you to filter out who your ads will be served to in the search results page. After you have decided that a term is irrelevant to your campaign, you can add that term as a negative keyword.
